Inclusive Performance Golf
Serious coaching in identity-safe environments
The world’s first LGBT+ golf platform led by an openly gay male PGA Professional outside the USA
Why LGBT Golf?
A lack of representation in golf — particularly for gay men and trans people — can create barriers to participation, confidence, and long-term engagement with the game.
LGBT Golf exists to address that gap by strengthening golf, not standing apart from it.
Through coaching-led, identity-safe environments, I support LGBT+ golfers to participate, improve, and belong — without lowering performance standards or compromising the traditions of the game.
All programmes are designed and delivered by PGA Professional Gary Shaw.

All playing levels are welcome
Structured, repeatable, and open to all – no membership required.

Community and travel
LGBT Golf brings people together through structured events, coaching days, competitions, and travel experiences. Community, connection, and shared participation in the game sit at the centre of this work.

Coaching
Coaching is led by PGA Golf Professional and qualified Life Coach Gary Shaw, working with players across all stages of development. Sessions follow the Inclusive Performance Golf framework, integrating technical development, performance understanding, and identity-safe delivery.

Certification
LGBT Golf works with golf clubs, academies, and organisations to support identity-safe, coaching-led environments within existing golf structures. Certification provides a practical framework aligned with established coaching standards and club operations — helping venues signal welcome, professionalism, and consistency without altering how golf is taught or played.
Beginnings: From Ireland to London
LGBT Golf is grounded in professional coaching experience developed across multiple environments and communities.
In 2022, Gary Shaw launched Inclusive Golf in County Kildare — a Golf Ireland–supported programme providing structured, supportive coaching for young golfers with additional needs. Following that work and a move to London, the same coaching-led, performance-respecting principles now underpin LGBT Golf within mainstream golf settings.
